I started a course (I think) at http://ds106.us yesterday. It's great as I don't know what it is or what it involves or where it is leading, but I seem to be doing it and have produced two assignments:
a photo of my day today
and a video of a joke... done not to perfection:

Here is an inspiring video I watched on David Deubelbeiss's blog. Enjoy!

Do what you least want to do!
The Twittersphere and and Blogsmos are both attractive and repugnant; particularly for those of us (such as myself) who would rather remain incognito and unknown to the majority of the world. However, it seems that there is no choice but to get involved. In an episode of 'Friends' I seem to recall one of the characters getting revenge on another by wearing every single item of that character's clothing. In a similar spirit, I am going to subscribe to every blog, re-tweet every tweet and contribute to every ELT-related forum, download every ICT tool and generally climb every mountain and ford every stream until it's time to return to my former solitude! I hasten to add that it is done by a spirit of joining in and finding a voice.

Xtranormal
I came across this tool for making movies, which could have numerous applications for the classroom - for teachers and students alike. This was my first effort at making a movie about M-learning.
Enjoy it!

Nearly every utterance that is produced has already been said previously - so when you hear one that is novel, it is a pleasing experience. We were staying in a freezing caravan and at breakfast my daughter said, "My knife is frozen!" Even if it has been said before, I doubt that it has occurred frequently.

A couple of weeks ago I was walking along Tottenham Court Road. I didn't really notice what was going on as I walked and was, essentially, not aware of anything particularly salient happening as I did so. In fact, were it not for the fact that I am writing about this in a blog that almost nobody is ever likely to read, I would almost certainly have forgotten completely about those moments. The same could be said for almost the entirety of life, during the vast majority of which nothing noteworthy generally occurs. However, most importantly, during that walk I felt happy. If I were to tweet 'I am happy' repeatedly, every day, as a looped signal, ad infinitum, I doubt that anyone would be interested!
